Parish Council
Knights of Columbus

The Parish Council is the "visionary" body that sets direction and policy for the life and growth of the parish.  It meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Finance Council

The Finance Council meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month, and oversees the parish budget and annual Stewardship Campaign.

Good Shepherd Council 9272 is open to practicing Catholic men at least 18 years of age. Formed to render mutual aid and assistance to sick, disabled and needy members, their fellowship is promoted through educational, charitable, religious, and public works of charity.  Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7pm. Call Jay Thompson (816-734-9062) for information. 

The Altar Society provides service to the parish through activities including food baskets, the garage sale, shoe boxes for abused women, Martha's Ministry, and more. They also furnish the bread, wine, and candles for the church's liturgy.  Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month starting at 6:30pm.

Annual Fundraising Committee

Our annual Parish Festival helps to pay off our parish debt as well as support all youth ministries.  The committee works all year to prepare this amazing social event for all adults of the parish and the broader Smithville community.  To help with this event contact Fr. Terrell Finnell.

Respect Life Committee

We promote respect for life through prayer, education, pastoral care, parish and community activities.  We work to proclaim the Gospel of Life in our midst throughout all ages and stages of life. Contact Deacon Mike Koile (402) 992-9451, or Teresa Fantasma (816) 370-2207 for more information.

Pastoral Care

Are you, or someone you know, unable to attend Mass because of illness, or have a loved one in St. Luke's Hospital-Smithville, and would like to receive communion? Please contact Deaccn John Wichmann at

Martha's Ministry

We furnish a meal to parish families and friends of a deceased parishioner after the funeral mass.  Family members may visit and share special memories of their loved one with their guests.

Elizabeth Ministry

We provide meals, prayers, help around the house, or just a friend to talk to when life throws a curve, or your newborn requires 100% of your day.  Give us a call - contact Deacon Mike Koile (402) 992-9451.
